The TP-POE-2456D Power Over Ethernet Passive PoE to 802.3af/at converter is a
unique product allowing a customer to run a IEEE802.3af or IEEE802.3at compliant
PoE device from a 24VDC passive PoE switch. This is the perfect solution for
running 802.3af/at compliant devices like IP cameras or wireless AP's from
passive PoE switches like Tycon's TP-SW5G-NC, TP-SSW5-NC and TP-SW8-NC or
Ubiquiti's TOUGHswitch™
They work by supplying power to the remote device on the unused Ethernet pins
4,5(V+) and 7,8(V-) per the 802.3af/at spec. The Ethernet spec supports
distances up to 100m (328 feet).
