Wzzard uses the lightweight, publish/subscribe messaging transport MQTT protocol for sensor communications. MQTT is an extremely simple messaging protocol specifically created for IoT applications over wireless networks.
The Wzzard Intelligent Edge Nodes can be easily deployed, attaching to any surface via built-in mounting ears or internal magnets. The IP66-rated, fiber reinforced polyester PBT housing and wide temperature rating make the units deployable in any industrial or commercial environment.
The Wzzard Intelligent Edge Node collects data from the sensor; then organizes and transforms that data into useful and relevant information easing the processing burden on upstream resources. Configurable by smart phone or tablet, nodes can minimize data traffic by only communicating exceptions to specified threshold or pre-determined alert levels. If the gateway is using the cellular network, this reduces the cost of the data plan. Configuration options can also include geo-location, device name and uptime to format data for easier analytics. With the use of control time synchronization, the Intelligent Edge Node can be programmed to maximize battery life to multiple years.
The Intelligent Edge Nodes are easily configurable, using Android or IOS smartphones or tablets and the Wzzard app over Bluetooth LE 4.0. Sensor data can also be read locally from the node to the Wzzard App allowing on-site personnel to gain access to sensor information over a range of up to 30 ft.
