The network plug-in isolator 100GG provides a safe plug-in of medical devices
and personal computers within the patient's vicinity into an IEEE 803.2 (10/100-
BaseT,Twisted-Pair) computerNetwork. Workstations are allowed to operate within
the patient's, only if they are designed in compliance with IEC 60601-1 as a
medical device or if they are fitted with an IEC 60601-1 compliant electrical
protection system.
All Inputs and Outputs of a medical device to other non medical devices or
Networks outside the surgery environment must comply with IEC-60601-1-1
standard. This galvanic isolation with sufficiently high dielectric strength is
required to meet the IEC-60601-1-1 standard. The Network plug-in isolator 100GG
may also be vicinity used in non medical applications. It provides galvanic
isolation for any equipment connected via Ethernet ports to prevent ground
loops.
